DFG-RSF Cooperation: Possibility for Joint German-Russian Project Proposals in all Fields of Science

To facilitate the support of collaborative work between German and Russian research groups, the DFG and the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) have opened the possibility for joint German-Russian project proposals for the funding period 2022–2024 in all fields of science. Collaborations of research teams from both countries are invited to submit joint proposals. In accordance with the full proposal target date of the RSF proposals to the DFG should be submitted not later than 14 December 2020. Polish-German Collaboration on Joint Projects in Physical, Life and Engineering Sciences (NCN-DFG funding initiative OPUS LAP)

In order to strengthen international academic cooperation, and with a desire to fund high-quality scientific research within their own countries and an awareness that some of the best research can be delivered by working with the best researchers internationally, the Polish National Science Centre (NCN) and the DFG are announcing a joint call for proposals in physical, life and engineering sciences. Deadline for proposal submission to the lead agency NCN is 15 December 2020. Further Information

Schwerpunktprogramm „Sensorintegrierende Maschinenelemente als Wegbereiter flächendeckender Digitalisierung“ (SPP 2305)

Im Rahmen des Schwerpunktprogramms sollen die wissenschaftlichen Grundlagen für sensorintegrierende Maschinenelemente (SiME) und deren methodisch gestützte Konzeptionierung und Systemintegration erforscht werden. Im Fokus stehen „gewöhnliche“ Maschinenelemente als standardisierte Basiselemente des Maschinenbaus mit definierter Gestalt und Auslegung, die im Allgemeinen nicht ohne den Verlust ihrer Primärfunktion zerstörungsfrei zerlegbar sind. Anträge in deutscher oder englischer Sprache für die erste dreijährige Förderperiode werden bis spätestens 18. Januar 2021 bei der DFG via elan entgegengenommen. Weitere Informationen

Priority Programme “INtegrated TERahErtz sySTems Enabling Novel Functionality (INTEREST)” (SPP 2314)

Until recently, terahertz science and technology has been driven by rather isolated scientific communities. The Priority Programme visions to establish a well-defined terahertz community by following a holistic “integration” approach in a dedicated coordinated initiative. The theme “Integrated Terahertz Systems” fosters interdisciplinary science in three main areas: 1. novel physical phenomena, technologies, and devices enabling integrated terahertz systems, 2. novel multi-functional integrated systems, 3. novel terahertz science and applications based on integrated terahertz systems. Proposals for the first three-year funding period must be written in English and submitted to the DFG by 22 February 2021.
