Herzlichen Glückwunsch an Prof. Kellermann zur Ernennung als EURASIP Fellow
In Anerkennung herausragender Leistungen auf dem Gebiet der digitalen Signalverarbeitung ernennt die European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) jedes Jahr bis zu vier Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler zum “EURASIP Fellow“, als höchste Auszeichnung, die EURASIP vergibt. Einer der EURASIP Fellows im Jahr 2021 ist Walter Kellermann vom Lehrstuhl für Multimediakommunikation und Signalverarbeitung (LMS), der diese Auszeichnung für seine Arbeiten zu Theorie und Anwendung der akustischen Signalverarbeitung erhält. Er ist damit der fünfte Wissenschaftler in Deutschland, der diese Auszeichnung seit ihrer erstmaligen Verleihung im Jahr 2007 erhält. Die Preisverleihung findet im August 2021 in Dublin (Irland) im Rahmen der EUSIPCO 2021 statt.
Von den vier anderen geehrten Deutschen haben zwei weitere ebenfalls eine Beziehung zur Erlanger Elektrotechnik: Bernd Girod (Lehrstuhl f. Nachrichtentechnik, 1993-1999, seit 2000 Stanford) und Karl-Heinz Brandenburg (Lehrstuhl f. Elektronik -1993, FhG-IIS 1993-2000, TU und FhG IDMT Ilmenau 2000-2020)
In recognition of outstanding achievements in the broad field of Signal Processing, the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) elevates each year a select group of up to a maximum of four scholars to “EURASIP Fellow”, the Association’s most prestigious honor. As one of the EURASIP Fellows of 2021 and the fifth from Germany since the first awards in 2007, Walter Kellermann from the Chair of Multimedia Communications and Signal Processing is recognized “For contributions to the theory and practice of acoustic signal processing”. The awards ceremony will be held at EUSIPCO 2021 in Dublin, Ireland, in August 2021.
Of the four other Germans honoured, two others also have a connection to Erlangen Electrical Engineering: Bernd Girod (Chair Communications Engineering, 1993-1999, since 2000 Stanford) and Karl-Heinz Brandenburg (Chair Electronics -1993, FhG-IIS 1993-2000, TU and FhG IDMT Ilmenau 2000-2020)
