This workshop is for international students only who have little prior knowledge of the German language, but wish to get an intensive continuation of German communication skills.
The workshop is designed to get you continued with the basics of communication in German.
Even when your entire study program is in English, it is essential to understand German in everyday life to communicate with other students or neighbours or the landlord etc.
Through a series of exercises and peer conversations, you will be coached to the basic skills of communication in German. This course is designed to provide a kick start needed for basic communication skills in German.
Although your entire study program may be in English, it is essential for you to understand everyday basic German to enable the communication with fellow students, neighbours, landlords, bank clerks, bus drivers or shop keepers.
Through a series of exercises and group work, you will be trained further in such basic communication skills.
The workshop includes how to:
– introduce yourself correctly
– make basic ‘small talk’
– communicate about everyday matters
– recognize and avoid cross-cultural misunderstandings
