In this workshop, international female students will receive information about the topics of sexual harassment, discrimination and violence in the university context. Being at the receiving end of such practices can be particularly challenging for international students, due to their uncertainty
about cultural differences as well as gender and roles expectations in the German academic context.

Therefore, providing international female students with information about the presence of such risks, ways to approach such situations, and practical information for how to deal with these challenges is needed.

The trainer will offer the participants information at the beginning of the workshop. Then, participants will be encouraged to ask questions and discuss the material presented. Afterwards, in smaller groups, participants will be presented with some exercises. Finally, the trainer is to discuss some techniques that students can use in order to deal with these potential situations.

On Saturday, the participants are divided into two groups that alternate between theory and practice. In the practical part, self-defence techniques are taught and practised.

IMPORTANT: These seminars are paid for through student grants so you can use them free of charge. Please only register if you will definitely take part. If you register for a seminar and are absent without an excuse on the day of the event, you will be blocked from attending all future seminars.
