The ERC launched the first competition for the new ERC Plus Grants, a pilot funding scheme designed to support outstanding, transformative research that goes beyond the scope of existing ERC programs and cannot be carried out with a regular ERC grant.
Scholars at all career stages from all around the world can apply if they have an outstanding record of scientific achievement. Every Scholar can be a Principal Investigator of only one ERC Plus Grant in their lifetime. The Host Institution need to be based in the EU or associated country.
There are around 30 ERC Plus Grants every year across all fields and all career stages. The ERC Plus Grants may be awarded up to a maximum of EUR 7 000 000 for a time period of 4 to 7 years.
The deadline for submitting Proposals for 2026 is the 2nd September 2026, 17:00 CEST.
