Visiting Professor from the Al Hussein Technical University

Professor Moh’d Sami Ashhab earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering/control and dynamics from the University of California, Santa Barbara (USA), in 1996 and 1998, respectively. After working in industry he joined the Hashemite University in Jordan in 2002 where he became a Professor of Mechanical Engineering in 2013. Prof. Ashhab spent his sabbatical and unpaid leaves during the period 2015 – 2018 as a Mechanical Engineering Professor at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Jordan Journal of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering during the period from 2018 – 2022. Prof. Moh’d Sami Ashhab joined Al Hussein Technical University, Amman (Jordan) in 2020 where he is currently the Dean of Scientific Research and Innovation.

His main interests are in mechatronics, control, dynamics, mechanics, automation, MEMS and NEMS, artificial intelligence, optimization, simulation, energy, and industrial applications.

He is currently visiting Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sandro Wartzack, Chair of Engineering Design, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.
